Wingbits, a blockchain-driven flight tracking network, has raised $5.6 million in a strategic round led by Borderless Capital and Bullish Capital. Additional participants in the round include Antler Global, Tribe Capital, The Spartan Group, Heartcore Capital, and SNZ Holding. The fresh capital brings Wingbits' total funding to $9.2 million.
The latest round of financing comes six months after Wingbits completed a $3.5 million seed round, also led by Borderless Capital and Tribe Capital. Since its testnet launch, the company has worked on building a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) designed to address the increasing demands of global air traffic. With projections showing air travel will double in the next 15 years, Wingbits intends to provide a scalable solution for real-time flight tracking, relying on its decentralized model.
The company plans to allocate the newly secured funds to accelerate its global expansion and further develop its decentralized network. Wingbits is also preparing for its mainnet launch on the Solana blockchain, with a focus on enhancing the network’s capabilities. The company’s goal is to establish a global airspace management system supported by a decentralized community of contributors.
