Waterfall Network, an EVM-Compatible Layer-1 Network, Raises $11.6M

Waterfall Network

December 12, 2024

Waterfall Network, a Layer-1 blockchain project, has raised $11.6 million in a Series A funding round to support its ongoing development. The round was led by investors Bolt's Capital, Alpha Token Capital, and Enflux. The new funds will be directed toward improving the network's infrastructure, with a focus on simplifying node operations and enhancing overall performance.

The recent investment follows a significant milestone for Waterfall Network, which recently set a new record of 12,778 transactions per second (TPS) on its mainnet. This achievement underscores the network's capacity to handle high transaction volumes, further solidifying its position in the blockchain ecosystem. The system’s unique architecture, based on directed acyclic graphs (DAG), allows parallel transaction processing, contributing to its scalability and performance.

Since launching in 2024, Waterfall Network has expanded rapidly, achieving notable success in terms of validator support and transaction performance. By mid-August 2024, the network had grown to become one of the largest decentralized proof-of-stake (PoS) networks, with over 6,900 active validators. This development has positioned Waterfall as a competitive Layer-1 network, aiming to address challenges related to scalability, decentralization, and security within the blockchain space.

The network's capabilities have been further validated by comparisons with other blockchain protocols. Waterfall's transaction speed is significantly higher than Ethereum's, with its maximum TPS exceeding Ethereum’s by a factor of 183. Additionally, its transaction performance is substantially greater than Bitcoin’s and Solana's, which are known for their own high capacity for handling transactions.

About Waterfall Network

Waterfall Network is a Layer-1 blockchain that leverages directed acyclic graph (DAG) architecture to achieve scalability and decentralization. The platform allows developers to migrate Ethereum-based applications while ensuring high transaction. Waterfall’s unique design enables it to process multiple transactions simultaneously, contributing to its strong performance metrics.
