Sekai, an AI-powered storytelling startup, has raised $3.1 million in a seed funding round led by venture capital firm Hashed. The funding aims to support the platform’s mission of revolutionizing storytelling by integrating generative AI and blockchain technology. The round included participation from a16z CSX, Azuki, Orange DAO, and Zypsy. Sekai’s approach allows storytellers to co-create in a collaborative environment, leveraging the Story Protocol to tokenize intellectual property and empower creators.
The platform seeks to transform storytelling into an interactive, multiplayer experience, where AI and blockchain streamline content creation and intellectual property management. By employing the Story Protocol—a Layer 1 blockchain supported by PIP Labs and backed by a16z—Sekai aspires to create a space for originality and shared creativity. Sekai’s achievements include winning the ETHDenver general hackathon earlier this year and participating in the a16z CSX accelerator program, marking significant milestones for the early-stage startup.
