Reown, Creating Toolkits To Build Onchain UX, Raise $13M Series B

January 15, 2025

Reown

Reown, a startup focused on improving user experience for on-chain applications, has raised $13 million in Series B funding, bringing its total funding to $38 million. This round was led by Union Square Ventures and 1kx, with participation from firms like Shopify Ventures, Kraken Ventures, and Crypto.com Capital. Founded in 2018, Reown, previously known as WalletConnect, aims to simplify the blockchain experience by developing software development kits (SDKs) for crypto wallets and on-chain applications.

The company’s flagship products, AppKit and WalletKit, serve as essential tools for developers building on-chain interfaces. AppKit enables the integration of various blockchain functionalities like social logins, embedded wallets, and cross-chain capabilities. Meanwhile, WalletKit helps manage over 600 wallets, including well-known options like Trust Wallet and Binance Wallet. The company continues its involvement in the WalletConnect network, which now boasts over 220 million connections across 35 million users. These developments are central to Reown’s goal of removing barriers in blockchain usability and promoting broader Web3 adoption.

Reown plans to allocate the funds from this round toward research and development, further expanding its platform across additional ecosystems and blockchain networks. The company will introduce a pricing model for its products in the upcoming quarter, continuing to offer free versions while launching an enterprise solution for larger companies to license.
