Infrared, a liquidity staking protocol built for Berachain, has completed a $16 million Series A funding round led by Framework Ventures. The latest investment follows two earlier rounds: a $2.25 million strategic raise led by Binance Labs and a $2.5 million seed round. With this, Infrared’s total funding now stands at $18.75 million.

Berachain, a recently launched layer-1 blockchain, introduced its mainnet on February 6, distributing tokens to users across its ecosystem and exchanges. The network operates on a proof-of-liquidity (PoL) consensus model, which prioritizes liquidity provision as a core mechanism for securing the chain. Infrared integrates with this system, enabling users to stake Berachain’s native tokens—BGT and BERA—while receiving validator rewards. Stakers are issued iBERA, a liquid staked token that can be deployed across various DeFi protocols to generate additional yield.

The Berachain Foundation’s incubator program, ‘Build a Bera,’ recently selected Infrared as its first supported project. Announced in January, the initiative seeks to assist early-stage ventures within the Berachain ecosystem. With its staking model, Infrared aims to facilitate capital efficiency while expanding opportunities for liquidity providers on the network.
