Girin Labs, a Korean Web3 venture studio, successfully secured funding from the newly established XRP Ledger (XRPL) Japan and Korea Fund, with parent company being Ripple. It represents the first funding allocation for Girin Labs from outside of South Korea.
Girin Labs specializes in developing infrastructure solutions for the Web3 ecosystem.
Girin Labs will benefit from strategic guidance and advisory services provided by Ripple and acceleration partner Catalyze Research to facilitate its expansion plans.
The secured funding will be instrumental in accelerating the development of Girin Labs’ core products: Girin Wallet, a dedicated XRPL wallet, and Lotus Protocol, a DeFi platform. Through Girin Wallet, the company aims to create a user-friendly environment that empowers XRP holders to seamlessly engage with XRPL-based decentralized applications (dApps). Lotus Protocol will further contribute to the development of a robust XRPL-centric DeFi ecosystem.
By collaborating with key partners such as Futureverse and accelerators, Girin Labs aspires to assume a leading role in decentralized finance within the XRPL ecosystem.
The XRP Ledger Japan and Korea Fund was launched on June 11, 2024, as part of Ripple’s 1 billion XRP (USD500m) commitment. The fund is dedicated to supporting innovative projects in Japan and Korea and fostering the advancement of the XRPL.
