GAIB, a crypto-AI startup, has raised $5 million in pre-seed funding to advance GPU tokenization for AI computing. The round was led by Hack VC, with co-leads Faction VC and Hashed, and included investors like Spartan, Animoca Brands, MH Ventures, Aethir, Near Foundation, and individuals Chris Yin and Lucas Kozinski. The funding, structured as a SAFE with token warrants, was initiated in June 2024 and completed in July. The post-round valuation and board appointments remain undisclosed.
GAIB’s platform aims to democratize AI computing by tokenizing GPUs, enabling them to be traded as fungible assets. This approach unlocks liquidity in previously non-tradable resources and allows investors to participate in DeFi activities such as lending, borrowing, and structured products, without the need to manage physical hardware.
This strategy addresses the demand for scalable AI computing and seeks to integrate GPU assets into DeFi ecosystems, enabling individuals and institutions to invest and earn yields. GAIB plans a pilot release soon, followed by an alpha launch within two months and the introduction of the GAIB token. The platform will operate across blockchains like Ethereum, Base, and BNB Chain for wide accessibility.
