Cipher Mining (NASDAQ: CIFR) has announced a $50 million private investment in public equity (PIPE) from SoftBank Group Corp. (TSE: 9984). The investment will contribute to Cipher’s expansion of high-performance computing (HPC) data centers, reinforcing its focus on large-scale infrastructure projects. SoftBank’s participation makes it a key investor in the company as Cipher continues to scale its operations.
Cipher has been building industrial-scale data centers with a focus on bitcoin mining and computational hosting. The latest funding comes as the company broadens its infrastructure to accommodate growing demand for digital asset services and enterprise computing. Financial advisory for the deal was provided by Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Inc., while Latham & Watkins LLP acted as legal counsel.
