Bitwise has completed a $70 million funding round supported by a group of financial institutions and technology investors. Participants include Electric Capital, MassMutual, MIT Investment Management Company, Highland Capital, Haun Ventures, ParaFi Capital, Khosla Ventures, General Catalyst, Blockchain Coinvestors, and former Google executive Nikesh Arora. The investment follows Bitwise’s continued expansion in the crypto asset management sector.
Founded in 2017, Bitwise manages $12 billion in client assets and employs over 100 people. The firm offers a range of investment products, including index funds, actively managed strategies, non-custodial staking, separately managed accounts, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and exchange-traded products (ETPs). The company plans to use the new funding to expand its offerings across beta, alpha, and on-chain investment strategies while strengthening its position in digital asset management.
