Altius has secured $11 million in seed funding to advance its modular execution layer designed to enhance blockchain scalability and interoperability. The round was co-led by Founders Fund and Pantera Capital, with participation from Archetype, Reforge, Digital Currency Group, No Limit Holdings, and Amber Group. Additional backing came from individual investors associated with blockchain projects such as Berachain, Movement Labs, Ethena, Ritual, DAO Five, and the Solana Foundation.
The company is developing a virtual machine (VM)-agnostic execution layer that operates independently of a single binary implementation. By integrating with Layer 1s, Layer 2s, and application-specific chains, Altius aims to address network congestion and transaction costs while enabling more efficient blockchain operations. Its architecture is built to support various blockchains in achieving greater performance and interoperability.
Following this funding round, Altius plans to expand globally and establish partnerships to facilitate adoption across blockchain ecosystems. The company has indicated that additional collaboration announcements are forthcoming.
