9 Lives Interactive, an independent game studio, has completed a $3 million funding round. Mechanism Capital led the investment, which included contributions from Delphi Digital, Sfermion, 3Commas Capital, Momentum 6, Kosmos Ventures, Devmons GG, and CSP DAO. The funds will support the development of the studio’s debut title, Nyan Heroes, a hero shooter game with cat-inspired intellectual property designed to attract a wide audience.

Founded in 2021, 9 Lives Interactive includes industry veterans from studios such as EA, Bungie, and Ubisoft, as well as advisors from Riot Games and Twitch. The team has a history of developing and maintaining AAA multiplayer shooter titles, including Halo, Destiny, Fortnite, Marvel’s Avengers, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six.
Nyan Heroes is a team-based, objective hero-shooter featuring cats piloting powerful mechs in competitive battles. Players can choose from eight guardian classes with unique abilities and feline-inspired movement to secure objectives and defeat opponents. The game is set in New Nekovia, an underground civilization with a vibrant atmosphere. Currently, in pre-alpha, Nyan Heroes has amassed over 13,000 signups for its early access launch.
The new funding will support further development, including the launch of Sei v2, improvements in liquidity, and platform retention. Nyan Heroes is among the first to implement the 404-token standard and features social engagement tools such as wallet-to-wallet messaging and a battle pass-style rewards program.
